Fawn

Commercial Design

We did not set out to become restaurant designers, but who were we to say no when we were approached by 3 of the city’s coolest women and asked if we would work our creative magic to create a space that complemented their culinary vision.

Known for its “modern take on the classics ', Fawn is the (big) sister restaurant to celebrated North End restaurant, Field Guide. Tasked with only a keyword (“plush”) and a sample menu, we got to work. Inspired by the iconic Halifax Public Gardens which is aptly located across the street, along with the strong female energy of the women behind the brand, we pressed forward with a bold colour palette, comfortable custom upholstery details, and textural architectural details to create visual interest. Custom lighting offers ambiance, and the generous honed marble bartop, brass accents, and 70’s-inspired seating provide a feeling of approachable opulence.

One of our proudest accomplishments to date, Fawn has made it’s mark amongst the Halifax culinary landscape as a must-try destination for locals and tourists alike. Get the tuna, the rigatoni, and the chocolate cake. And tell them we sent you. ;)
