Nestled on an ocean lot on the North Shore of Nova Scotia, This home underwent an extensive renovation and extension in the years prior to our involvement, leaving only the kitchen in the original cottage untouched. The goal was to preserve some original character, such as the ceiling, while unifying the design with the newly added extension. The space planning of this kitchen involved working around structural posts and completely reimagining the possibilities of how this space could function. Originally tucked into a cramped corner, this kitchen now extends the full length of the house and is home to a 14’ island complete with natural marble countertops, a baking center, and plenty of seating for the whole family.
