Upon leaving our first site visit of our Lakeshore project, the excitement was tangible. Great location, and a top-to-bottom renovation/styling project of a substantial home for a great family. Little did we know that a week after signing the contract we would be greeted by a global pandemic and a complete pivot in everything we previously knew about the construction process and sourcing.
With COVID-19 protocols introduced into the process, the show went on. A complete reconfigure of the layout allowed for a new open concept living space, main level laundry room, larger primary suite and a basement wine cellar. No surface went untouched; from new wide plank white oak floors, to the ceiling of the master bedroom which is covered in sea shell veneer. The master ensuite now includes a generous walk-in shower with dual rain heads, a freestanding bathtub with a view of the lake, and a private water closet.
In the kitchen, we removed traditional dark wood cabinetry, reimagined the workflow, and set out to make the prettiest white kitchen in our portfolio. Luxury appliances, dual paneled dishwashers, and a new breakfast nook add new functionality for this busy family.
The final piece of the puzzle was strategizing a full installation of an entire home to align with a move-in date in spite of supply chain challenges, social distancing limitations, and a heat wave. A masterclass in logistics, we managed to have this home ready for its full reveal in time for the peak season of lake living.
